REWIND therapy is a safe, fast and effective treatment for PTSD and other symptoms caused by psychological trauma. Many of us will face trauma at some time in our lives. Witnessing or experiencing an event that causes fear, helplessness or horror can produce an intense, emotional response leading to the development of PTSD.
Symptoms may include a combination of emotional and behavioural difficulties, intrusive memories, avoidance and numbing. Psychological trauma is any sudden, shocking unexpected event that overwhelms our ability to respond adequately. These events include, but are not limited to:
PTSD is treatable even when problems persist many years after the traumatic event. It is never too late to seek help. REWIND therapy can be effective in significantly reducing symptoms after just one session. During the Rewind Technique, you access the trauma whilst in a safe, relaxed state.
I will guide you through a sequence of observing the trauma in forward 'film' and then in rewind. We will do this as many times as necessary in a single session. I will talk you through the process and ensure you always stay relaxed. This allows the brain to reprocess and store the traumatic memory as an ordinary, albeit unpleasant, and non-threatening memory rather than one that continually activates a terror response.
People often say that after REWIND they are surprised that they don’t feel ‘bothered’ by the trauma anymore. The event is not forgotten, but when recalled it doesn’t pack the same punch, so it won’t be accompanied by those old feelings of anxiety, fear or panic.
The cost of REWIND therapy is £130 including a follow up session. Payment is required 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. The cancellation policy for REWIND therapy is 48 hours, this is due to the limited availability of appointments. If further counselling is required to address other issues or concerns, then these will be charged at the regular counselling rate of £65 per 50 minute session.
No one rated the Rewind Technique poor or as a failure.
This represents an improvement of 167.4 per cent on their original ratings.
A four-year study carried out within NOVA (part of the Barnardo's charity) showed similarly impressive results:
Study size: 47 people, 57% of whom were treated with Rewind alone.
